Pirates of Legend

Pirates of Legend - while being a flag, is also meant to be a forum for discussion and political debate with an intended membership consisting of small to medium sized crews.

While new content will surely be added by the Dev team it is doubtless that the long term endgame of YPP will be found in the arena of politics and empireship. This may very well NOT appeal to some players, be it those who are drawn to YPP for its' puzzles as opposed to the RP setting of a nautical fantasy realm or those who would wish to remain independent in the manner of a small and close-knit group of brigands who would rather pay little heed to "politik"-ing.

While some crews might have no desire to engage in political dialogue, Pirates of Legend would argue that ANY such crew could do well to benefit from the umbrella of a flexible yet firmly sturctured flag while remaining free to pursue their enjoyment of this delightful game world on their own terms.

In fact as the game develops, it is entirely possible that Pirates of Legend will propose an unofficial system of sub-flages to allow for opposing views and styles to be played out while allowing both parties access to a larger body to represent them on the higher levels of dialogue. Examples of this would be unofficially endorsed privateers who would be able to operate outside the official position of their parent body or warring crews looking to have a mutual agreement to pursue a hostile stance towards each other while being assured of a larger body to support them in the event that they should be attacked from another front by a non-member of the flag.

Education is not a primary objective for Pirates of Legend, however the possibility exists that a good attitude of communication among different captains will promote an environment in which insight and gained knowledge are shared and put in to practice.

Effective leadership depends of course on good communication and of the demonstration by example of sought-after behaviour. Both require additional time and input to be given on the part of the leadership but are essential to the health and longevity of individual crews and thus the flag as well.

While there is more than enough room for humour and even the naturally occurring cutthroat nature of a fully seasoned seadog, there is a definite need for mutual-encouragement, respect and a sharing of resources within each individual crew. If there is no unity of purpose then time will take her toll.

What is your crew`s role in Midnight?
